All that God created was very good
All the animals that God created at the beginning of our world’s history, on the sixth day of the Creation week, were made according to their kinds.
“And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” Gen. 1:25. See also Gen 1:21.
And these animals were created in such a way that they had the ability to reproduce themselves. These animals were placed under the dominion of man, and he had the power to rule over them.
After God finished his creative works, he saw that they were good:
“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” Gen. 1:31.
Sin entered and marred the creation of God
After sin entered our world, we are told that “the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Gen. 6:5). The next two verses inform us that God was grieved that he had made man on the earth and he purposed in his heart to destroy both man and beast from the face of the earth that he had created.
Noah was to gather specimens from the creatures of God to preserve life on the earth
There is something very interesting when it comes to the Flood though: when God led all the animals to enter into the ark that Noah had prepared, he led only those animals that he had created.
“And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.” Gen. 7:1-3.
Due to their continual wickedness, men had tampered with the creation of God and they had modified some species of animals and also men (done what is called “Amalgamation”), and that was something which God did not approve. Therefore, when he delivered Noah and samples of the animals that he had made, he did not lead the other, modified, animals to enter in. Thus what we have as animal types at the present time is what God has made in the first place.
The Antediluvian world – A representation of the end times
But there is one more side to the story, and it is pointed out by Jesus – we are told that what was done in the Antediluvian world will be repeated just prior to the Second Coming of Jesus. Thus we learn that the tampering with species, as a result of which we have fossils of dinosaurs and mammoths – products of Amalgamation, will be done also in the last days, and it will be one of the causes that will lead the world to suffer the judgments of God, in the seven last plague, signifying God’s displeasure with the wickedness of man.
“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Matt. 24:37-39.
Amalgamation – One of the peculiar sins of the Antediluvians
Amalgamation was one of the sins that led to the destruction of the old world by water. And Amalgamation today, in the gene editing of different animals, is one of the reasons why this world will be put to an end, with all the wickedness of its inhabitants – this time not by water, but by fire. In 2 Peter 3, we read about the Flood and the future of this world, in these words:
“Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” 2 Peter 3:6-7.
Further down we read the admonition of the apostle Peter to the faithful ones:
“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness…” 2 Peter 3:11.
All that we see – the heavens, the earth, the rocks, and seas, will disappear, and in their place will appear the renewed earth – the eternal home of the redeemed. See verse 13.
“Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” 2 Peter 3:14.
A high moral standard
For this reason, let us strive to meet the high standard that is set in the Holy Word, because the Day of Reckoning shall come, when “every one of us shall give account of himself to God”. Rom. 14:12.
What we learn is that God made the animals according to their kinds but men “have sought out many inventions” (Eccl. 7:29). And he did not preserve those that were modified because these would not serve for his glory and would pose harm to men in their weakened state on the post-flood earth.
In all this, we see the great wisdom of a merciful God who cares for his creatures – for man whom he created in his own image and provides for their well-being. Shall we not give praise to him for the wonderful mindfulness he has shown to us by preserving life on this earth, even though it had all become corrupt?
When the earth is in such a state again, won’t we strive to be like the faithful Noah, whose faith condemned the world and who only was found righteous, with his family?
“By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” Heb. 11:7.
Our current situation – a warning to all that the Day of Judgment is coming
The more we see wickedness increasing around us, the more we should strive to be like our Pattern and follow in his footsteps, to be found blameless in the Great Day of the Lord, and receive the right to the city of God and the tree of life.
The current situation – with Amalgamation already practiced nowadays – and the moral degradation that we face are only evidence for the nearness of the time when Christ shall come to take his own to himself so that where he is, they shall be also.
This world is not our home, and if we strive to enter into a better country, even the heavenly (Hebrews 11:16), we should not be attached to the things of this world, “choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season,” “but grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ”, “for it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God” (Heb. 11:25; 2 Peter 3:18; Rom. 14:11).
